The American Consumers Union ("ACU") has a mission to provide advocacy and support services to consumers that are struggling with unmanageable debts. Through a combination of education, protection and empowerment, our company has helped over 10,000 clients deal with harassing creditors and come up with a plan for making better financial decisions.

ACU was formed by experienced consumer finance industry veterans whose goal is to help alleviate the burden placed on consumers with unmanageable debts. Our team includes professionals from the debt resolution, credit counseling, mortgage, student loan, credit card and collection industry. Recognizing the burden placed on indebted consumers from first hand experience dealing with the often abusive and deceptive practices of collectors and creditors, the team decided to launch a service designed to help educate consumers on their rights, protect them from abusive collection practices and empower them to stand up their creditors and take their financial future into their own hands.

Our clients come to us through our partnerships with various debt resolution, credit counseling, mortgage and other consumer finance companies. In this way we are able to provide our services with no direct charge to consumers. We currently do not accept consumers directly, only those referred from one of our partners.
